Carrie Underwood made her start as a singer when she won season four of American Idol. Carrie Is one of American Idols most sucessful talents to come out of the show. Her along with many others such as Kelly Clarkson, David Cook and Jordan Sparks just to name a few. Carrie has taken country music to a whole new level. She has won many award including, Academy of Country Musics Top Femal vocalist in 2008, CMAs Female Vocalist of the year in 2008, a grammy for Best Country Song and for Best Female Country Vocal performance also in 2008. She has won several in 2007 and 2006 that include, Femal Vocalist of the Year, Video Director of the year and Video of the Year from CMT and Two grammys also in 2007 for Best Country song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. In 2006 she won 4 ACMS for album of the year, single of the year, top female vocalist and top new female vocalist, in that same year she won CMAs for female vocalist of the year and the Herizon award. Carrie is not just an amazing singer but a person as well. She has helped many people including her help to her former high school, Checotah High School, by giving new musical instruments to allow the school to keep there fine arts department. She has also helped out in a performance that took place during a awards ceremony to help raise money for cancer. According to standuptocancer.org Carrie along with MAriah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, and Leann Rimes sang a the song "stand up" at an awards gathering earlier this year. Carrie and the contributions she has had don't just end there she has helped many other organizations.
