Personal Life:After graduating high school Jason moved to New York and enrolled into The American Music and Dramatic Academy where he found his true love for music. Unfortunatly, Jason dropped out a year into the program. After the academy, he took up guitar and began focusing on his songwriting, when he had a good vareity of songs in his rep. he moved to California, Mraz joined percussionist Toca Rivera and guitarist Carlos Olmeda for regular weekly gigs at Java Joes(Coffee Shop). He began looking beyond his coffee shop comforts into a new bigger area of music. http://www.jasonmraz.net Community Involvement: Jason Mraz is a strong supporter of a greener earth. he recycles and does his part like everyone else but he takes it one step further, his house and studio is ran on entirely solar power. this shows Jasons passion for trying to make a greener earth. Also jason has made surf boards with a lower toxicity level. Influences:An Influence of Jasons was Dave Matthews Band. His writing influences have come from everything to geography, the land the people the water dances and just about everything that he saw. I chose jason mraz because i enjoy his music. He is is a very good musician and one of my idols. his improv singing style makes him a very interesting person because he could probaly sing a new song on his way to a friends house or something weird like that. he also enjoys making weird funny movies. which i also like to do, so basically i see a lot of myself in him.
